“Every dreamer knows that it is entirely possible to be homesick for a place you’ve never been to, perhaps more homesick than for familiar ground.”

Hi my lovelies!
It’s already a month since I arrived in London and I definitely got accustomed to the fast-paced lifestyle. London has so much to offer as no other European City does. It’s literally impossible to explore every little corner unless you spend the rest of your life here 😉
Full of culture, history and class, London is at the top of many travelers’ bucket lists. And since I visited London the first time in my teenager years it was always a huge dream and goal to life for a longer period in this vibrant City.
So here I am… Even though my Instagram might look like I am mostly just exploring, In fact I came for my studies and am currently doing my last semester of my degree 🙂
And to be honest the University and the academic system is very different from Switzerland and that makes me struggle quiet a bit. Back home you were totally independent and free to go to lectures and you had only to write the exam at the end (great when you have a blog). Here, they do ID checks for every lecture and also every tiny assignment has to be approved with drafts and so on…
Back to the actual topic – What surprised me most in this month was the weather. It’s so warm and not as bad as London is known for 😉 That made it possible to explore the city mostly by foot and barely not using the Tube! Here are some tips that help me going round and navigate and explore beautiful and sometimes hidden places 🙂
- Walk as much as possible.
- Take a bus and see the city from the top.
- Parks are the best places to recenter and recharge energy
With this easy tricks I have built a mental map of London and it’s like a big puzzle – each time you head for a new place the map becomes larger 🙂 Furthermore, you avoid the crowded and expensive tube, have a great workout.
How do you prefer to explore London? Would you be interested in more London centered posts, about food, places and activities in this wonderful City? Let me know 🙂
